Robert Frame takes Saddle of Lamb Championship

 LiveScot, held at Lanark on Saturday 26 November 2022, included the Royal Smithfield Club Beef Ribs & Saddle of Lamb competitions. Judge for the day was Jason Ward from John Scott Meats, Paisley with the event supported by Hugh Black & Sons Butchers & Quality Meat Scotland.

Beef Rib Championship Presentation

Nine beef ribs of very high quality were entered with the Champion coming from David Dickinson, Brookwoodlees Farm, Canonbie, Dumfriesshire with a 378kg Limousin-cross heifer grading R4L. David finishes about 650 cattle per year on his 480-acre, all-grass farm. The Reserve championship went to T & A Taylor, Heatheryhall Farm, Biggar with another Lim-cross heifer. 

Saddle of Lamb Championship presentation

 Taking home the Club trophy for best Saddle of Lamb from a strong entry of 15 was Robert Frame from J & J Frame & Co, Dyke Head Farm with a 27.9kg Texel-cross. Reserve Champion was Andrew Dunlop of Corstane Farm, Biggar with a 22.9kg Beltex.
